Over the years there has been a big decline in young people learning new things especially sports like golf. Why could this possibly be happening? It certainly isn’t down to kids not wanting to use the electric golf trolleys.
One of the major reasons a lot of young people do not wish to take up the sport is the fact that their dad plays it every other day. You are not going to be too popular at school if you do play golf and are seen in some of the stupid clothes that some courses insist the golfers have to wear there. I remember when i was at school which wasn't too long ago that the people who played sports like golf were only friends with the other ones that played golf which I always felt was wrong.
I do not understand why people see golf as a old mans sport and not like all the other major sports like football and rugby. The fact is that golf is regarded as one of the high profile sports but the younger generations really do not see it as one. To an extent this is false as I know a young lad who adores golf and has been learning the game over the last few months. The only problem is ge wishes to play football and go to gardening club rather than play golf. I really do not see how gardening can possibly be better than playing golf? Is the game really seen to be that bad and boring to younger generations? Although not liking the sport myself I also do not like football or any other of the major sports so i'm certainly not biased against the sport.
In my honest opinion I think kids would benefit from playing golf than they would most other sports. The players behaviour in golf is great compared to those of other sports which is brilliant for the kids who play the sport as it can teach them how to play a sport in the right way. Golf is also great as it encourages people to go out and do something with their time, either play for a bit of fun or go out and play with the pros if you get that good in a chance to win some serious money.
So charge up those golf batteries kids and get playing!
