Improve My Golf Game
September 7th, 2009 by Sam-Frea

Golf has its disappointing moments. It doesn't matter if you are starting out or a seasoned player, you can always improve your game. The key to playing better golf is finding the club to hit the ball accurately over 150 yards . If you consistently hit straight with this club, you will definitely lower your handicap.

You just can't experience the best in golf unless you have cultivated "touch". touch is a term that means in touch. Or to become one, not a part of, but more one with. As far as golf is concerned being one with the green is the same as having touch. It is the ultimate way to quickly lower your golf handicap.

Major key to playing better golf is obvious training frequently in order to  consistently shoot low scores. Overall it comes down to your golf swing. Excellent ball striking helps towards hitting great scores. Learning to develop a smooth and controlled swing is the key to to keeping your handicap low.. This will help with better focus which will result in less error and rushed shots.

Lets focus on some practicing drills to maximise your time.

1.Hitting lots of balls for the sake of hitting lots of balls is not wise. You must organize your practice regime. Try not hit through your balls to fast you will develop bad habits. Take it easy and take your time.

2. Golf is a game that is 90% percent mental so before every shot you hit at the range I want you to visualize yourself hitting a great shot. Furthermore, after hitting the shot reflect for a moment on the shot and try and understand why the shot was good or bad.

3. Bring a pad and pencil to record your thoughts and then review your notes after your practice session. I know it's a little cheesy but it does help, I wouldn't lie.

4. Begin your practice sessions by smoothing your swing with short, soft iron shots...working your way up through the clubs until reaching your driver. You should only use maximum power when your swing has gotten to a consistent smoothness & fluid rhythm.

5. Mark out your distances and targets aiming to land the ball within a 3 metre radius. Having good distance with bad accuracy is useless and can be expensive.

Putting a well thought out practice plan will help develop your game and lower your handicap very quickly stay away from hitting buckets of balls.Improving your game will be achieved by practicing so get out to the range and get practicing today.
